Wizard Plants
The Wizard Plants page allows system operators to view, configure, and import data into the plant hierarchy. This is where you manage the structure of plants, nodes, and devices.
This page is intended for system operators.
Page overview
The page is divided into two main areas:
- Tree panel (left): Shows all configured plants in a hierarchical tree structure
- Details panel (right): Shows information and configuration options for the selected node
Tree structure
The tree displays the complete hierarchy of your configured plants:
- Plants: Top-level elements (wind farms, photovoltaic plants)
- Nodes: Intermediate grouping elements (sections, areas)
- Devices: Individual devices (turbines, inverters)
Node types

Selecting a node
Click on any node in the tree to select it.
When you select a node, the details panel shows:
- Node type and name
- Section (for devices)
- Model information (for devices)
Node details tabs
When you select a node, the details panel shows a header with the node's icon, name, and type, along with the available configuration tabs.
Anagraphics
Always present. Gathers all the node information in a single view, organized into sections:
- Identity — node name and identifying data
- Lifecycle — the node's relevant dates
- Operations — operational parameters (only for nodes that have them)
- Location — geographic coordinates and position data
- Style — the node's visual appearance (icon and color)
Sensors
Available only for photovoltaic plant nodes. Lets you configure the plant's environmental sensors, used in performance calculations (e.g. Performance Ratio).
The tab is split into three sections, one per sensor type:
- Irradiation
- Module temperature
- Ambient temperature
In each section you can add one or more entries. Each entry links:
- a device, chosen from the plant's device tree
- a variable of that device — the quantity measured by the sensor
Depending on the sensor type, each entry has a dedicated checkbox:
- Irradiation → Technical: marks the sensor as a technical reference sensor
- Module temperature and Ambient temperature → Default: marks the sensor to use as default (only one per type)
The irradiation sensors marked Technical are the ones the system uses to compute the plant irradiation.
You can select multiple entries with the checkboxes on the left for bulk actions: delete several entries at once or, for irradiation, set or clear the Technical flag on several entries at the same time.
Validation rules
Errors are shown at the bottom of the tab if:
- there is no at least one irradiation sensor
- no irradiation sensor is marked as Technical
- more than one Default sensor is set for module temperature or for ambient temperature
- there are duplicate sensors (same device + variable combination) — duplicate entries are highlighted in red
Importing data
The Wizard Tree includes a powerful import wizard to add new data to your tree structure.
Starting the import
You can start the import wizard in two ways:
- Click the Import button in the node details header
- Click the Import button in the center of the page (when no node is selected)
Import wizard steps
The import process is guided through 4 steps:
Step 1 – Select data source
Choose the data source connection to import from.
- Select the instance (data acquisition connection, see Data Acquisition)
- Select one or more source databases available on that instance
Step 2 – Select plants
Pick the plants you want to import from the source.
- Browse the plants available on the selected source databases
- Select one or more plants to include in the import
Step 3 – Configure devices
Configure how the devices of the selected plants should be imported.
- Assign a model to each device (see Models)
- Adjust device names, tags and other parameters where needed
Step 4 – Validation and preview
Review the final structure before saving.
- The system validates the data structure
- Preview the resulting tree (plants, devices, tags)
- Click Save to complete the import
Exiting the wizard
To exit the import wizard at any time:
- Click the X button in the top-right corner
- Confirm you want to exit
Best practices
- Review before importing: Always preview the data structure before saving
- Import incrementally: For large datasets, consider importing in smaller batches
- Verify connections: Ensure your data source connections are working before starting an import
- Check models: Make sure all required device models are imported before adding devices
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see any plants in the tree?
Plants must be imported from a configured data source. Use the import wizard to add plants to the system.
Can I edit a node after importing?
Yes. Select any node in the tree to view and modify its properties through the available tabs.
What happens if I import duplicate data?
The system will handle duplicates based on the import configuration. Review the preview step carefully before saving.
Why is the Sensors tab not visible?
The Sensors tab is only available for photovoltaic plant nodes. If you've selected a wind plant, a device, or a generic node, this tab won't appear.
Can I delete nodes from the tree?
Node deletion depends on your permissions and whether the node has dependencies. Some nodes may require removing associated data first.
